Ask an Expert: Woman's Leadership Coach
As a woman's leadership coach, keynote speaker, podcast host, and mom, Rebecca shares guidance on many stages - all over the country. And, this week she's spilling her goodness here! We each asked Rebecca for advice on a challenge in our worlds as moms, small business owners, volunteers and leaders in our own rights.


How do you stay connected to extended family?
Maybe you grew up with all of your extended family nearby or maybe they are scattered all over the country. The ease staying connected can be influenced by proximity, but it can also be influenced by effort - and technology.


Coffee or Tea and how do you make it?
Something so simple as a cup of coffee or tea has a lovely way of becoming cherished daily ritual. As Emilee shares, "I saw online someone say they are at the age that at bedtime they are already thinking about their excitement for tomorrow’s cup of coffee. I feel that." And, Ashley shares, "It’s less about the caffeine and more about the ritual. It’s comforting. It’s grounding. It just feels like me." So, today we share just what we fill our mugs with - and how.


How do you prepare for a trip?
From the planning to the packing, preparing for a trip involves countless steps before we're ready for take off. Whether we are packing for ourselves (or overpacking!), helping our kids get ready or getting all the ducks in a row that make travel more seamless, each step gets us closer to having a great vacation.


What is your go-to sweet recipe?
How sweet it is to have a favorite sweet treat! And, how much sweeter it is to have a go-to recipe when the mood, the day or the special event calls for a homemade dessert. Well, all of these recipes shared below are just that - our tried and true go-to sweet recipes that we've turned to time and time again.


What are your favorite ways to get together with friends?
The goodness that comes from getting together with great friends can really be something special. After all, we're here trying our best to replicate that feeling! Sure, we connect in the group chat, but below we share our favorite ways to see each other - in person. Find how one-on-one meet ups are serving us, how bookclubs, gym dates, walks and lunches not only make, but hold space for building and maintaining some of our favorite relationships.


How do you parent different kids, differently?
There are 18 kids between our Spilling Goodness group of 6 moms. And, each one of them is unique, every day brings something new and every season we're learning about a new interest, milestone or challenge. As Emilee notes, "Parenting sure is a wild ride." Chatting about how we see, appreciate and react to the unique qualities of our children, we come back to fairness and connection.


Are you able to rest and recover?
As 6 moms, we have all come to recognize the power of rest. Whether through a joyful activity, meditation, tucking away with a book, a nap or simply pressing pause, rest isn't a luxury, it is what fuels our full lives. We have all been in the "do more, accomplish more, keep going" cycle at times of our lives - and one way or another the need for rest becomes evident.


A Valentine's Day Treat: Our husbands answer questions about us!
This week, we give the mic to our husbands! In honor of Valentine's Day, we flipped the script and we each asked our husbands to answer a question about us. With a list of questions to pick from, not only was is so fun to learn about each other in a different way, but it was so interesting to hear how our own hubby each answered the question.


What are your best efficiency hacks?
Game changers. That's how each of us described the things we've woven into our lives to make them a little more effiicient. As 6 moms with 18 kids combined, there are a lot of balls in the air - constantly. So, any trick we've uncovered that streamlines life a little bit - we're here for it.


How do you care for your skin?
We are all officially "of the age" when we know what our skin likes - and are firmly on the SPF train. While all of our skincare routines differ a bit based on our skin types and preferences - we unanimously agree that a good SPF must be part of the mix. Check out how we each care for our skin below. As Ashley puts it, "Consistency over perfection—that’s the real glow-up."


How do you teach your children about saving and spending money?
It is easy to say, "A penny saved is a penny earned," (thank you Benjamin Franklin!), but how do you teach your kids about what things cost, about saving for bigger purchase, about saving for their future and about meeting needs and then wants? As Rebecca shares, "It’s a lot of conversations, a lot of honesty, and no shame."


How do you habit stack?
Building systems and routines that help you get more accomplished or enjoy a moment more thoroughly - we're here for it. But, how? The idea of habit stacking includes taking one thing that is already an established part of your life (say brushing your teeth) and adding something to it. The established routine helps you hold on to the new addition and eventually it all becomes second nature - or, a habit. As Emilee put it, "The goal is to combine two action items and knock t


How will you begin 2026?
When we turn the page on the calendar, this often prompts people to take stock - what was accomplished or enjoyed in 2025 and how do we hope 2026 unfolds? This week, we each share how we approach a fresh year - whether that means a word of the year, new goals, family resolutions, setting intentions or just living life another day at a time. We hope you see yourself in one of these approaches, or perhaps this provides some inspiration for your own march into the new year.


What would your 100-year-old-self tell you today?
To think that one day, if we're lucky enough to live to be a 100 years old, that we could look back and see snapshot of our lives and offer some thoughts - what would they be? We've likely all heard the phrase, "the only two people on this planet worth impressing are your 10-year-old self and your 100-year-old self." Well, today, we share what we think our 100-year-old selves would offer for guidance.


If you could give every mom one “magical gift," what would it be?
A "magical gift" could look different for each and every mom. We know moms are the ones behind the scenes making this season so magical, and some of that magic is reflected back on to all of us. But, have you ever asked yourself the question, "If you could have one magical gift, what would it be?" Below, we each share what we would give and how we hope it would spread more goodness in your lives.


How do you handle holiday gifts with extended family or friends?
Gift giving for the holidays can be a lot. When we factor in gifts for our kids and husbands and then on to our parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, close friends and so on, we've all worked out ways to keep the gifting meaningful - and manageable. From Secret Santas to White Elephants to picking a theme or a type of gift, there are so many ways to come together and exchange gifts and memories.


How do you create holiday magic in your home?
While experiencing holiday magic as a kid was amazing, the gift we get as parents to make that magic and spread joy is wildly special. When our kids remember Christmas, they'll carry with them the feeling. To quote Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched—they must be felt with the heart." Here, we each share the special things that we do during December to keep that magic alive.


What holiday tradition did you gr0w up with and continued with your family?
Holiday traditions anchor so much of this season- what we remember, what we look forward to and the overall feeling we connect to each December. When we reflect on our favorite traditions from childhood and what we've chosen to continue with our families, we can't help but wonder which traditions our kids will carry on with their families as well. Whether you've held on to a cherished tradition or perhaps you're looking to start a new one, we each share our favorites.


What are your ideal plans for a family night?
Time with our people is at the tippy top of the list of what fill us up. Whether that includes a planned out event or an intentionally unplanned evening, this time together is extra special. As 6 moms of 18 kids, our favorite family nights cover the gamut. From Rebecca's home cooked comfort food kicking off a night with her boys to Emilee's favorite plans matching each season we've all found a few things that act like magnets.
